The brief
Reimagine the classic willow cricket bat as a sci-fi item for META 11. It had to look premium up close and still run well in real time.
The approach
We modelled it as clean hard-surface geometry with tight topology and non-overlapping UVs. It was then textured with PBR materials: brushed carbon, a micro-hex weave, worn metal edges and a masked emissive channel that drives the cyan glow on the grip, chevrons and toe.
- Baked normals and optimised texture sets
- LODs for performance at distance
- Lights correctly out of the box in Unreal or Unity
The result
A game-ready asset that drops straight into the engine, presented with a cinematic turntable that shows off the emissive breakup and material response.
